elf beautifully bare BLENDING BRUSH | Review

Keep reading if you want to know why I'm obsessed with this brush...
I picked mine up for $6 at Target, but this brush is also available online.
Back of the sleeve brush comes in.
Know that this brush is synthetic, and can be used with any medium of product (powder, liquid, etc.).

  • Very very soft
  • Blends any product in wonderfully
  • Surprisingly easy to clean, like claims suggest, due to soft but not overly dense
  • Perfect size and shape for a multitude of uses, my favorite being to contour
If you see this brush in-store pick one (or more!) up, and if you're planning an elf order online be sure to add it to your cart! This is not sponsored or anything; I just really love this brush.

Wet N Wild coloricon OMBRE BLUSH | In a Purple Haze | Review & Swatch

If you saw my Makeup Products I Regret Buying video, then you would know how I feel about this. This is only $4.99 and can be found anywhere wet n wild can be purchased.
0.3 oz and cruelty free
"Blendable, lightweight powders in a soft gradient of ombre hues. Silky-smooth formula blends seamlessly for buildable color. Use as a blush or even as a shadow for a fun pop of color."
Main ingredient is talc
Always make sure the product is sealed when purchasing
Top portion, Bottom portion, and then mixed together
  • Very light in color
    • Not buildable in intensity
  • Not quite dark enough for a blush
    • On my skin tone too dark for highlight, but could work for that
    • Can be used as a pale shimmer eyeshadow
  • Very smooth due to talc and dimethicone in the product
    • Not harsh glitter
  • There are other shades in this line, and they may work better as a true blush
This product looks beautiful in the pan, but does show up a bit lighter when swatched and almost not at all on the face. I would recommend if you are looking for a soft purple highlight but not if you want a lavender blush.

PUR Glow Together Bronzer | Review & Swatches

Another PUR cosmetics review today! This bronzer retails for $34 (PUR, ULTA) and is in partner with Action Against Hunger (an organization that provides food, safe drinking water, and sanitation to people in need). Spoiler: this is actually a good bronzer, and not just for a good cause. Also, disclaimer: this product was sent to me for review, but my opinion is honest as always.
Lovely packaging, as sleek as possible for a jumbo bronzer
"Give Back. Glow Forward."
Jumbo Bronzer = 0.60 oz / 17 g
"With three matte and three shimmer shades, the blendable, jumbo palette is perfect for all skin tones whether you want to look like a bronzed goddess or just back from vacation."
Also cruelty free
Very smooth, almost creamy powder,
and this is how it looks after swatching
Bottom shimmer shades - matte shades, all mixed
  • Application:
    • "Use a blush brush to apply to the forehead, bridge of nose, tops of cheeks, and chin. Can be used to contour. Blend onto neck, decollete and body with a body brush for a just-back-from-the-beach look."
    • In the first sentence many of those places are better to highlight (use shades in this bronzer that are lighter than skin), or else bronze around those areas (ex: not center of forehead but sides). In my opinion the shades are not quite cool enough for a real contour.
  • Shimmer and matte have the same smooth texture
    • When mixed the tone is a warm almost orange with subtle shimmer
  • Easy to blend, not patchy
  • This product is LIMITED EDITION
  • Meant for all skin tones
    • I can get away with this on pale skin without looking orange
    • If you have a much darker than "medium" complexion you may find this more difficult to bronze with but the shimmer bronzing shades could highlight
I recommend this bronzer to everyone. For one, this is benefiting a good cause. Two, the product is genuinely wonderful quality and perfect for all times of year (especially spring / summer).

PUR Strobe / Highlight Palettes | Moonlight Glow & Sun-Kissed Glow | Review & Swatches

I've had these highlight palettes for a few weeks now, and am ready to give my full review and opinions. These retail for $34 on the PUR website, but they are also carried at ULTA. Disclaimer: these were sent to me for review, but that will never affect my opinions.
The packaging is gorgeous and sleek

Review Time:
  • Some general information:
    • Main Ingredients:
      • Ceretin Complex (for age-defying)
      • Shea Butter
      • Mica
    • Benefits (quoted from PUR):
      • Helps smooth and firm for a hydrated, ageless complexion.
      • Brightens and keeps skin looking healthy, never dull.
      • Offers multiple looks for all skin tones
      • Conditions and softens skin.
      • Creates the perfect shimmery highlight for a naturally luminescent glow.
    • Supposed application / usage:
      • "With a contour brush, apply wherever you want to create an instant highlight such as the center of the forehead, the cheek bones, or straight down the bridge of the nose."
My thoughts...
The texture is very smooth and does truly set to a powder transferproof finish. I can easily apply the product before setting with powder, or after without a lot of disturbance. My preferred method is with my fingertips, as a sponge absorbs a great amount of a product and I generally find the same with brushes. The glow is a more natural one, not quite to the level of intense strobing it mentions. I cannot say that these will work for all skin tones. I have very fair skin (less than NC15 in mac for reference) and the Sun-Kissed Glow palette shades are all too dark. The Moonlight Glow is meant for cool tones, whereas Sun-Kissed is more meant for warm. They are supposed to be complimentary, but due to shimmer they are not meant for your highlight, blush, and contour. My favorite shade is Twilight from the Moonlight Glow palette (demo in a video coming soon!).

These are very similar to the Essence So Glow illuminators (I prefer this formula due to no streaks, and sets faster), or benefit Watt's Up (most similar to the shade Aurora). I would recommend these palettes to someone new to cream highlighters, or wants an everyday natural glow. The price tag is a bit up there for the ounce size, so I would maybe wait for 20% off at ULTA since these are NEW not Limited Edition.
