Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer | Review + Swatches | 01 Bavarian Cream

Stop what you're doing, and at least read the into to this review...Today I'm reviewing a new love of mine: The Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer. This baby is only $14, and *spoiler* worth the hype. Mentioned in my Concealer Collection video.
 .14 oz
Swatch of Bavarian Cream (lightest shade, yellow toned)
Comparison swatches here
 Unedited no makeup face
Full face, 10 hours after application (no touch ups)

  • First, sorry no right after application picture (the shots were a little blurry, and didn't want to use them)
  • Claims to be ideal for under eye area
    • It is great, not 100% full coverage though
    • I also used it instead of foundation along my t-zone
  • Actually my skin tone, would be brightening for almost anyone else
  • Wears all day, doesn't separate, crease, or get patchy (on me)
    • I have heard not ideal for dry skin
      • If you have dry skin, use a primer or moisturizer under
  • With this "unique" applicator not a lot of product comes out
    • Almost have to dot the product on
    • Not flexible tip, but not much different from standard doe-foot applicators
  • Blends VERY easily into the skin
    • Quick and easy, wouldn't even need a brush
  • Does NOT oxidize,
    • Does not fully set on it's own either (set with powder)
Yes, just yes! Do yourself a favor, and pick up this concealer. I am extremely impressed by it, and even prefer it over the Urban Decay naked skin.

My Concealer Collection | Reviews + Swatches | Pale Skin

I'm thinking of making this a video series, maybe even weekly. This video is on all the concealers I currently own, not going into ones I've tried in the past. I did mini reviews, and swatches for all of them. Let me know what other videos like this you want to see ;)

Products Mentioned (with review links):
-Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (Fair)
-Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer (01 Bavarian Cream)
-Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer (Fair Neutral)

Same order as products mentioned

Mac Fleshpot Lipstick | Review + Swatches

Mac lipsticks are a classic, and for me this one is a must have. Mac has raised the prices of their lipsticks overtime, and currently cost $17. They have a variety of finishes, and this one is a satin finish.
"Pale muted pinky- beige"
according to mac
Pulls more peach on me
  • Can be worn alone, mixed to lighten, or in the center of lips to highlight
  • I love this lipstick even alone, but I know not everyone would like this
    • Screenshot from my latest video about some of my favorite lipsticks
  • Not as dry as a mac matte, but still enough so that it wears a long time
  • Can be built up or worn less intense
Not every person nor every skintone can pull this color off, but personally I like it. On me, it's slightly a "concealer lips" color, but that shade is the look some desire. The formula is also very nice, if I wore this more I would try to find a dupe. There may be some listed online in-case the price does not seem reasonable to you (I just hope Mac doesn't raise prices yet again!).

Real Techniques Silicone Eyeliner Brush Review | BEST EYELINER BRUSH

Okay so the title of this post may seem a bit dramatic, but this makes even people who are terrible at winged liner (myself included) look like a pro. Best part, this brush is only ~$5!
Real Techniques Silicone Eyeliner Brush

  • When they say this is easy to clean--they mean it
    • Liner nearly flakes off brush, does not stain tip
  • I tried it for the first time on camera, and didn't even touch up off camera
  • Mimics the tip of a felt tip eyeliner
Obviously I really like this brush. Liner works well with most if not all gel liners, you could even use it with a liquid liner you didn't like the tip too.

Sephora Favorites Superstars | Mini reviews, swatches, and true value!

To go along with my video uploading today, I'm posting my review on this new Sephora Favorites set. This is the Superstars edition and it retails for $75. This is especially an amazing gift, or gift to yourself to buy during the Vib sale.
All the products included
Back of set
List of products included and amounts
Inside of set

  •  Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water (deluxe size, $16)- This is a slightly glorified water, reminds me most of mac fix+. It has a light scent, but the spray can be intense if held too close to the face. Does prime the skin by prepping, but nothing that another primer could do--I can see it being nice for oily skin due to not overly hydrating.
  • Makeup Forever Step 1 Equalizer (sample size, $5.76 value)- This is a true hydrating base, it is a actual primer that has a primer feeling (not silicone). Does not fill in pores, or blur skin, but does create an even canvas to work on.
  • Beauty Blender (original size, $20)- This is just the original beauty blender, once you try the real thing--nothing compares. It is light, it is bouncy. Run it under water, and gently squeeze the excess out. Then dot around the face to blend in foundation, concealer, highlight, contour, etc.
  • Tarte Brush (mini, nothing to compare value to)- This is VERY dense, and when used with a cream it blends away the product beneath it.

  •  Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight (full size, $22)- This is a pale pink toned cream highlight, it blends very naturally into the skin, but does not build upon itself. It is at full intensity in one layer, and does NOT blend well over powder.
  • Tarte The Sculptor Contouring Face Slenderizer in Park Ave Princess (deluxe, $16 value)- This shows up more orange on me, and pulls more red on others. It blends well enough, and looks natural on the skin. The texture is not the creamiest, and seems to set rather quickly. I suggest using something like the beauty blender.
  • Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Highlight (mini, $9.23 value)- This is slightly too dark for my skintone, but I still really like it. It looks so intense, but NATURAL! It blends very easily and just gives that inner glow we all desire.

  •  Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Himalia (Full size, $29)- This formula can be used wet or dry, when wet there is not tooo much of a difference (here is dry, I'll do a full review post in the future). It is very smooth, blendable, and pure pigment shimmer. It is amazing such an expensive product is full size in this, but I doubt I would EVER pay that much for a single shadow.
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Lounge (Full size, $21)- This shadow is gorgeous! It's practically the same to quite a few other brands' versions, but nonetheless amazing. Smooth, pigmented, and an easy one shadow look.
  • Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black (Full size, $22)- This is my holy grail eyeliner! I got one in a holiday set last year, and it is still going strong. This is really waterproof, and I find the tip is the easiest (for me) to get an exact even wing.
  • Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencil Extreme Longwear Eyeliner in Noir Intense (Full size, $23)- Okay this baby has some extreme staying power! The swatch alone took force to remove, and -listen to this- does not smudge or wear away on tightline or waterline with a full day of wear! This has to be the longest wearing eyeliner I own!

  •  Touch in Sol Stretchex Stretch Lash Effect Mascara (Full size, $24)- This does give some length, but very little volume. It's a great minimalist, natural looking mascara. Haven't tested for wear yet, but it is not waterproof.

  • Benefit They're Real! Mascara (Deluxe, $8 value (compared to full size))- Everyone has probably tried this at some point. It gives average length, and pretty good volume. The one thing people tend not to like about this is the fact that it can be a pain to remove. I use an oil based remover, and have no problem.
As a whole...
  • Claims to be a $207 value, I calculated it to be $216
    • Even better deal than they claim
  • Can almost do a full face
    • No lip products
    • No blush
    • No eyeshadow primer
  • Variety of products
    • Multiple highlighters
    • hyped products like primer water
    • classics like Stila eyeliner
  • No real "dud" products
    • Not enthused about Stretchex mascara or tarte contour
  • Standout products
    • Lancome eyeliner
    • Beauty Blender
    • Laura Mercier Highlight
Don't think twice. If you want to try a variety of products, I highly recommend this set! If you already have a lot of these products, buy it as a gift for someone you care a lot about (yes, $75 is a lot but the value is REALLY there!).

Colourpop Oh Snap | Lippie Stix & Lippie Pencil | Reviews + Swatches

I just uploaded my monthly favorites video, so I thought I would do my full review on one of the products mentioned. This post is a review on Colourpop's Oh Snap Lippie Stix + Lippie pencil, they retail for only $5 each on the Colourpop website. These launched as part of the fall line, but will be limited edition in the long run.

Oh Snap Lippie Stix, Oh Snap Lippie Pencil
Oh Snap Lippie Stix
Oh Snap Lippie Pencil
  • The matching pencil is a little less warm, and lighter
    • Almost identical though
  • When worn together they last all day no touch ups
    • When just the lippie stix it wears more like 5-6 average wear
  • Lippie Pencil can be worn with other lip products on top
    • Perfect nude lip liner
  • Lippie Stix can also be worn with other lip products
    • Could use as a center of lip highlight on top of darker lip
  • Application is smooth and creamy on both
Last month I featured the Colourpop liners in my favorites, and this month this lippie stix...I think it should be obvious I love these! The tone of this is a my lips but better, perfect nude. The formula is one of my favorites to begin with, and the color just makes me love this more.
