Milani Luminoso Baked Blush: Review and Swatch

Finally this blush is mine! Milani is a favorite brand among many and it is just hard to find (in my area).
It comes all sealed up saying the shaded name (luminoso) on the side.
There is shimmer in it but it is very fine.
When you flip the blush pan up there is a mirror and brush below.
Here is a swatch, warning it is very pigmented!
  • It lasts all day long without fading so if you think once you put it on it will fade- it won't,  so blend blend blend before leaving the house!
  • Very fine shimmer so you don't really need to have a highlighter
  •  Flattering warm peach
  • It is affordable and you can't go wrong. It is worth the hype for sure!

HUGE ELF HAUL! August 2014

The e.l.f or eyes lips face website was having 50% off so I had to make an order, especially for the limited edition "Glow Pearls". This brand is very inexpensive as is but it does add up! I bought 24 things for around $40 and the website after a certain point does offer free shipping.
With this brand there are multiple different lines: Essential (mostly $1), Studio ($3), and Mineral (most expensive around $5+)
Here is an overview , and I have broken it up into categories which you will see below.
 Tools:

  • Essential eyeshadow brush
  • Essential eyelash curler replacement pads

 Lips:

  • Studio Matte Lip color in "Natural"
  • Studio Moisturizing Lipstick in "Rosy-Go-Round"
  • Mineral Lip Gloss in "Au Naturale"
  • Essential Lip Balm Tint in "Grapefruit"

 Eyes:

  • Studio Eye Brow Kit in "Light"
  • Studio Gel Liner in "Midnight"
  • Studio Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in "Toast"
  • Studio Mascara Primer (Translucent)
  • Studio Baked Eyeshadow in "Toasted"
  • Essential Smudge Pot in "Cruisin Chic"

 Highlighters:

  • Mineral Glow pearls in "Skin Balancing" and "Natural"
  • Studio Baked Highlighters in "Moonlight Pearls" "Pink Diamonds" and "Blush Gems"

Cheeks:
  • Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzer Cream Duo
  • Studio Blushes in "Blushing Rose" and "Tickled Pink"
  • Studio Bronzer in "Cool Bronzer"
  • Studio HD Blush in "Headliner"
  • Pressed Mineral Blush in "Sweet Retreat"
Pressed Mineral Bronzer in "Beach Bronze"
That completes this over the top haul! I am already swatching and taking blog pics. If you want to see a review on something sooner rather than later leave a comment or on the haul pic I posted on Instagram (budgetmakeupbeauty). I have over 50 drafts of things to post so I will be trying to post at least everyday (those 50 drafts do not include things in this haul).

Stila in the Light Eyeshadow Palette: Review & Swatches

This was one of my main purchases during the most recent Ulta 20% off. This palette does retail for $39 which is not as expensive as the naked palettes but still quite a bit of money.
The palette comes inside a simple cardboard layer.
The back has an example of the palette layout.
It also comes with a mini lookbook for those who can't think of any looks to do.
The back of the actual palette has the same layout but no coloring.
The palette also contains a full sized (.01 oz) smudge stick eyeliner.
There are 10 eyeshadows (.049 each)
Also is a full sized mirror with a protector screen.

  • Bare: Matte, cream colored, smooth texture, great browbone highlight

  •  Kitten: Shimmer, pinky champagne, creamy texture (but not a cream), great inner corner/lid/highlight

  •  Bliss: Matte, pinky brown, smooth texture, transition/blending/crease color

  • Sunset: Shimmer, orangey gold, creamy texture, lid color

  •  Sandstone: Matte, deep brown, smooth texture, crease color

 Top row swatched together.

  •  Bubbly: Shimmer, golden champagne, creamy texture, lid/highlight

  •  Gilded gold: Satin with glitter, light bronze with gold glitter, smooth texture but weak pigmentation, lid

  •  Luster: Satin with glitter, blackened green with  gold glitter, smooth texture,  lid/outer "v" of the lid

  •  Night Sky: Satin with glitter, light grey with silver glitter, smooth texture, outer "v" of the lid

  •  Ebony: Matte, black (comes off lighter than in the pan), okay texture a bit chalky

 Bottom row swatched together.
  • Overall the only disappointing shades are Gilded Gold and Ebony
  • My favorites: Kitten and Bliss
  • Good wear time, I always use an eye primer though
  • The matte shades impressed me other than the black
  • Little to no fallout
  • I will do a separate review on the liner once I can put it through some more testing

Nyx Cherry Cheesecake Butter Gloss: Review & Swatches

Here is an affordable much raved about orange lip gloss. This particular shade I don't hear a ton about but the formula itself is much raved about.
Very simple sleek packaging, and the outer color is supposedly the color of the gloss.
This is the shade "Cherry Cheesecake"
Nice doe-foot applicator
Arm swatch
And a lip swatch.
  • Very creamy non-sticky formula
  • Provides a nice wash of color or a good topper
  • Up close it can look a bit streaky since it is a cream formula
  • Doesn't make lips drier and does slightly hydrate
  • Wears off quickly since there is no tackiness
  • Pleasant sweet smell

Nyx "Hot Red" Lipliner Pencil: Review & Swatches

Since these lipliners are super affordable and when they were 40% off I knew I had to at least try one. I have quite a few lip liners now but I didn't have a true blue toned red....
"HOT RED" is the shade name.
It is a wooden lip liner so it isn't the smoothest and it is quite dry.
Even in the swatch you can see it is slightly patchy but on the lips (without a balm) it just looks awful.
It does however really define the lips.
  • You MUST wear a balm underneath this even if you have exfoliated and don't have chapped lips
  • Makes the lips feel drier and the wood part just isn't pleasing when I apply it
  • I way prefer retractable lipliners ( plus you don't have to sharpen them)

Lorac Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette: Review & Swatches

I bought this a few weeks ago and I have already returned it. This palette is hit or miss depending on the palette you buy. Some shades are creamy and soft others are dry and lack pigmentation. I love all the colors but I had more miss quality than hits in my palette. It is a rose gold toned palette not pink toned like the naked 3 (which I do not own but it is on my wishlist).
Outer layer on the box.
Cardboard box.
Comes with a mini primer.
Back of the palette.
Comes with a large mirror.
Has 10 eyeshadows.
Top Row
Bottom row
All together
Simple eye look.
Using Unreal on the lid, Unconditional in the crease, and the light satin/matte on the brow bone.
  • The colors are lovely. My go to type shades in fact!
  • The one called Unreal was very dry and lacked pigmentation. When I went to return mine I swatched it in store and it was amazing! The one next to it called Undiscovered was lacking in the store palette but was one of the nicer ones in mine. So quality does vary.
  • I have heard many many raves about this palette but it just didn't work out for me :(

Laura Geller "Sugared Maple" Italian Marble Lipstick

This was part of a hautelook set I purchased a while ago for only $10 and it contained multiple full sized lip products including this one. Because of that I am not sure of the full retail price probably around $20 would be my guess.
The packaging feels nice and not cheap. It actually has some weight to it!
It has .12 oz of product and is in the shade "sugared maple"
The Italian Marble Lipsticks have a swirl of colors in them.
It is a frost and it is buildable. Top: one light swipe. Bottom: Layered swipes.
  • It is very frosty which is not usually my go to. But on the center of the lips it is stunning! Or when layered over another lipstick.
  • It is not as frosty as some "frosty" lipsticks so if you like that kind of finish it can be worn alone
  • Overall I would not pay full price since I don't like frosts, but if you do I highly suggest it
