Wet n Wild Lipsitcks- Just Peachy & Think Pink - Review + Swatches

Today I am sharing my experience with two wet n wild lipsticks. I only bought two because I wasn't sure if I would like it. These are only $1.99 at most drugstores. I have the shades Just Peachy and Think Pink.
I hate the packaging. When ever you take the lip off it tends to get on the clear cap since it doesn't roll down. I do however like the clear cap.
You do seem to get A LOT of product. It seems to roll up forever, so if you find a color you like you won't run out.
Here are hand swatches. The top is Think Pink and the bottom is Just Peachy. Think Pink is a bit brighter in real life and so is Just Peachy.
Here is Think Pink on my lips. It is what I would say a "perfect pink" is. Not too bright, and not too light. Still a little more than an every day pink though.
Just Peachy is a peachy color. A little orangey and not as flattering on my skin tone, but I can make it work.

  • Tugs on lips
  • Settles into lip lines especially when lips are dry
  • I would wear a lip balm underneath to prevent tugging and drying too much
  • Very affordable
  • I question the ingredients in this
  • Good color range- including neutrals like this, and brighter and darker colors
  • Wears a VERY long time, it lasts extremely well on the lips
  • I wouldn't wear this formula everyday since it can be on the drying side

Revlon Parfumerie- Wintermint

By now you can probably tell I love this line of nail polishes. Most scents are pleasant and exactly like the name, and I think I've tried five now. This one is probably my favorite so far. I found this one for about $4-5 at Walmart.
The latest one I bought is Wintermint!
Here is a more accurate showing of the color. It is a minty sea foam color at the base, and then blue and silver glitter mixed in.
Here is is with about two layers. I was about to take it off so I decided to take a pic, it lasted very well for about a week. It smells exactly like mint and not just slightly, even after a top coat it still smelled like mint.

  • Smells like the name suggests (Smells after its dry)
  • When removing it has little bits of glitter that are hard to remove
  • The bottle is very cute and surprisingly easy to work with
  • Lasts an average polish amount, better than Essie lasts when worn without topcoat
  • It is a spring color even if lots of the collection is fall winter colored and it is even called wintermint
  • I'd also get it if you support the Seahawks in the superbowl since it is kinda blue/green :)

Wet n Wild 8-pan Eyeshadow- Petal Pusher

Another Wet n' Wild eyeshadow review. This is the Petal Pusher Palette. It is a purple themed palette that I bought because I felt like wearing purple eyeshadow and I didn't want to shell out a bunch of money for the stila purple eyeshadow palette. I bought it for around $5 at walmart.
Unlike the trios this had a "Peel Here" tab which I thought was neat.
The back tells you a few ways to create looks with this palette.
It is very purple hued which I think is gorgeous especially for spring!
The palette is not too glittery or intense, and I find it can be pretty wearable.
Here are all the shades swatched out on my arm. The left side is swatched to the left.
Here is just the left half.
1-The first is a shimmery but not too intense "browbone" shade.
2- A light lilac  "eyelid" shade, it is satiny and smooth
3-A slightly deeper purple, That is not as pigmented as in the pan. It reminds me of UD rockstar I think. I think it would look better on the outer "v" of the lid instead of the "crease"
4- A Glittery lavender that would look better on the lid rather than the "definer"
Here is the right side:
1. The "browbone" is a frosty light lavender that is a little too frosty for under the browbone, so I like putting it over a cream shadow on the lid.
2. The next one is my favorite! It is a unique purple with a pink hue with gold and copper glitter. It is very hard to descirbe, but it's what made me buy the palette.
3. It Doesn't look like the shade in the pan. It is not a burgundy with black glitter. It is a deep brown with redish glitter. I personally will not use this in my "crease"
4. The last shade looks like the shade in the pan. It is a black with some slight silvery glitter

  • All are pigmented even if they don't all look like they do in the pan
  • The shades that I wanted the entire thing for were even more impressive than I expected
  • The "black" or really deep last two shades are not something I will reach for but if you like those shades you would probably enjoy them for a smokey eye or something
  • The second "browbone" shade is a little too much for the browbone but it looks wonderful for a nice glow to the lids
  • I usually use one or a few shades from this for an eye look. I usually use one for the lid but would probably not go all out purple with this
  • Very affordable; less than a dollar per shade
  • NO MATTE shadows, some have a matte base color but they have glitter

Beauty Haul- Drugstore Makeup & Skincare

So today I stopped at Walmart to look at the new makeup for spring. Not that much appealed to me. The new maybelline wonder powder was mostly dimethicone which breaks my skin out. The Masterglaze cheek sticks seemed ok but they were around $8 a piece. The liquid lipsticks coming out are not my thing, so I'll just show you what I did get.

No haul is complete without nail Polish!
•I got a new topcoat called the colorstay gel shine topcoat by revlon; $4.97.
•Another revlon parfumerie (these were my favorite nail polish formula of 2013) in winter mint; only $4.97 instead of $6.99 elsewhere
• A Sally Hansen triple shine in Pearly whites; $4.57

Wet N Wild Eyeshadow
•Petal Pusher Palette; $4.68
•Walking on Eggshells Trio; $2.93

The new covergirl tru blend in l1; $8.44

And some skincare
•Clean & Clean morning burst- detoxifying cleanser; $5.27
•Equate Dual Power Moisturizer; $3.47
• Freeman face mask- peel off pomegranate; $1.37

Thanks for reading! I'll be sure to do reviews and swatches of some of these things soon

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Review + Comparison

Hello everyone. I have been using this sponge for weeks now and am ready to share my opinion. I took pictures when I first got this sponge so it wouldn't be all gross.
It comes in a large tube like box. Saying what it is on this side.
And then sharing what it claims on this side.  Including how Samantha Chapman from PixiWoo created Real Techniques.
It claims to: redefine your skin, as well as belnd makeup for a smooth enhanced finish.
It is such a weird shape. It has a dip to apply to apply onto the rounded surface and contours of the face.
Here it is better shown, it almost looks like a chunk is missing,
Here is is compared to other sponges. I am in the process of finding a perfect one since I am not willing to pay $20 for the beauty blender, since they get worn out fast if you use them everyday. The others I bought for $4/5/6 dollars at TJ Maxx.

  • Very soft when dry and wet
  • cleans off easier than other sponges
  • No sign of damage to sponge yet (It's been about a month)
  • Unique shape that helps all surfaces of skin get blended. The dip woks well for the whole face and the tips work nice for under the eyes or nose area.
  • Can be a little overly damp when you clean it / get ready to use it. So I suggest squeezing all the water out once and then again wrapped in a wash cloth
Overall, I LOVE mine. If you are like me and don't want to invest in a beauty blender try this for half the price. (Plus ulta always has coupons).

Rimmel London by Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 17-Review+Swatches

Today I am reviewing another product from Rimmel. It is a "lasting finish" or supposedly long lasting lipstick. I have the shade 17. It is a neutral wearable pink. This retails for around $6 and can be found wherever Rimmel London is sold.
It is a black tube with kate and a pink heart in pink writing.
The tube is not standard it is slanted which makes it hard to store.
You get a standard amount of product that rolls up as well as down.
Up close you can see a subtle glitter that doesn't show on lips until after the color is worn off.
A light swatch makes it a pale sheer pink. When you build it up is comes out to the color in the tube.
When wiped away you are left with tiny specks of glitter.
It is very rosy and wearable. A classic pink, not bright or too pale.
It does transfer within the first while of wearing. Which means check your teeth before leaving the house.

  • Perfect pinky rose shade
  • leaves glitter behind on lips
  • Wears well, but does not stain lips
  • Have to reapply after eating or else glitter residue
  • Classic Rimmel Smell
  • More pink than orangey on lable

Best of Beauty 2013

This is a youtube tag going around but I thought I would share on my blog. I know that this is really really late but I have been trying some new things lately but these are my overall whole year favorites.
Makeup Forever Mist & Fix: Silicone primers break me out but this is a setting spray without silicone and it helps get rid of the powdery look while not looking matte or dewy. It can also be used before makeup to help setting power as well.
Revlon Colorstay: (Oily/Combo): I prefer this sooo much to the covergirl outlast. This lasts so much longer and covers more.
L'oreal True Match Crayon Concealer: I have still not found a holy grail concealer but this is pretty good. I can use this under my eyes, face, and for a slight highlight. It can get a bit cakey on blemishes but works well for under eyes.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder: I used this most of the year and this is my second one. It can be a little too mattifying but it does provide a little extra coverage.
Elf Baked Blush in Peachy Cheeky : This I probably used the most the label is all worn off. I also love and have been using the regular line blush in Mellow Mauve both are only $3 each. This one provides more of a glow rather than a flush.
Maybelline Instand Age Rewind & Benifit High Beam: These are my highlighting favorites. For a more concealer type highlighter I have been using my Maybelline. But a plain pinky glowy highlight I like is my sample of Highbeam which has lasted soo long.
Spoolie: I don't do anything with my eyebrows other than combing through with a spoolie. For a while I used a clear brow gel but I didn't like the effect.
Smashbox Wondervision Mega Palette: As much as I love Urban Decay I feel this is more versitile and it includes face products as well.
Elf Coffee Gel Eyeliner, Stila sparkle liner in Flash, and Maybelline Golden Halo eyeshadow: The elf is my favorite gel eyeliner it doesn't claim to be waterproof but it lasts all day long. My stila is my favorite liquid liner since I do not wear liquid liner everyday, and it is waterproof and complements green brown eyes very well. And my favorite single eyeshadow and eyeliner color is the golden halo. It is so vibrant and a true gold!
Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara: This didn't smudge, flake, or loose my curl. It cave my a slight curl and and didn't clump up.
Jordana Twist & Shine + Revlon Balm Stain: I love these way more than lipsticks since they last all day with eating. They hardly transfer and leave a glossy finish.
Charlotte Ronson (Sephora limited Edition) & Ulta Super Shiny Gloss: The charlotte ronson ones were LE but I had to mention them since they were amazing. And I also love the Ulta ones since they feel weightless and not sticky at all. They do smell a little weird but the formula is worth it.

Pink Ombre Lips- Quick and Long Lastig

Today I am going to show you my currant   favorite Lip combo. It's spring like (can be worn year round though) and very easy! I originally thought of this to tone down my bright pink lip, but it turned out ombre and beautiful.
Here is the picture I posted on Instagram (my IG is budgetmakeupbeauty). I listed the steps there as well.

STEP 1:
Use a balm stain. I used Jordana Twist & Shine in sweet pink.
Alone it is very vibrant and long Lasting. As well as not overly drying. (Search my blog for a full review)

STEP 2:
Use a lighter shade of pink. This could be in the form of lipstick, balm stain, or in my case lip cream. This is the soft matte lip cream in Istanbul. ( I also have a full review on this).

Pat this onto the center area for the ombre effect if you would like this to be a matte and lighter pink you could put it all over lips(that wouldn't be ombre).
Do not lips other than blotting them together.
here is the finished look freshly applied and not yet matte finish.
After 9 hours there is still a slight color and the lips are slightly dry. But this does last through a full day ( I ate twice since putting it on). The matte cream might wear off with eating but the stain still leaves color behind.
